Advanced QGIS for Environmental and Groundwater Applications

    Course Summary

This advanced course builds upon foundational QGIS skills and focuses on applying spatial analysis techniques to environmental monitoring, hydrogeological mapping, and groundwater resource management. Participants will explore complex workflows including geoprocessing, spatial modeling, integration of remote sensing data, and groundwater mapping with QGIS and its extensions.

    Key Learning Outcomes

    • Apply advanced geoprocessing tools for spatial analysis
    • Integrate remote sensing data and digital elevation models (DEMs) for terrain and watershed analysis
    • Generate groundwater potential maps using multi-criteria analysis (MCA)
    • Use QGIS plugins for hydrological modeling and environmental monitoring
    • Automate workflows using QGIS expressions and basic Python scripting
